  • All Music.com ~ From the paper copy publishers of the standard reference All Music Guide, this site contains ratings and reviews of more than 400,000 record albums. Search by artist, album, song, style, or label. Access information on new releases, music styles, music maps (guides to the evolution of a musical genre), articles, and a glossary. Entries on artists include a musician/musical group's history, roots and influences, musical style, discography, guest performances, and reviews.
  • The British Library Sound Archive ~ The Sound Archive holds over a million discs, 185,000 tapes, and many other sound and video recordings. The collections come from all over the world and cover the entire range of recorded sound from music, drama and literature, to oral history and wildlife sounds.
  • Billboard Music ~ Daily music news, weekly charts with music samples, this day in music, new releases, and more. Also has Review Finder, with tens of thousands of original album reviews from 1970 through today. Also find many audio clips.
  • Music Search.com ~ For resources and information on Free Music Downloads and Free Download Music

  • The Garage ~ A compilation of links to information about garage bands, old and new.
  • Punk Magazine ~ Contains images of covers, articles, artwork, and tables of contents of the music magazine Punk, which was published from 1976 through 1979 and revived in 2000. Searchable.
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum ~ Includes inductees, sound clips, birthdates, a timeline, materials for students and teachers, and more.
  • Rock on the Net ~ News, charts, info, and more on all types of rock/pop music.
  • Rolling Stone Magazine ~ Online edition of print popular music magazine of same title. Includes news, articles, reviews, a gallery of magazine covers, political features, and more.
  • Ultimate Band List ~ Search by name or keyword, browse the bands by letter, genre, resource, or view the complete lists.
  • The Ultimate Fake Band List ~ "This is a list of fictional bands from movies and TV shows ONLY, with the occasional good exception."
  • WomanRock Magazine ~ This searchable site was created by musician Brenda Kahn as a place where "independent women artists can meet, network, learn and grow individually."
